Each of us make food choices multiple times daily, the aggregate pollution of those decisions hugely impacts our global climate. Experts discuss the carbon intensive industrial agriculture system. Topics to be explored include food labeling, homesteading, farm shares and regenerative food systems. In partnership with the Lower Hudson Sierra Group.

 

Materials Management: Wasteful Consumption and Smart Decomposition (A part of our Climate Science, Climate Action series)

American overconsumption causes colossal waste with real negative impacts on public health and the environment. Experts will discuss sustainable materials management, a systemic approach to using and reusing materials more productively over their entire life cycles. Attendees will learn about the latest developments in recycling properly and food waste composting. In partnership with the Lower Hudson Sierra Group.

 

Animal Anatomy

Learn how animal’s physical attributes are connected to their methods of hunting, protection, travel and nesting through films produced by Mercy College students. Filmmakers tell the animals’ stories through their eyes. Screening is open to all ages. Free!

Join us for presentations by Riverkeeper’s Cliff Weathers, Clearwater’s Manna Jo Green, and others.  Topics to be discussed include energy production, public safety, and the economy.
