SPRING NATURE EXPERIENCE CAMP

Monday, April 10 – Thursday, April 13

9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Developed for grades K-3, campers will explore the wonders of nature in spring. Together we will unveil some of the incredible secrets of the great outdoors. Children will gain confidence and comfort with nature, while having a great time and staying active. Each day of camp includes crafts, games and outdoor adventures. Dress to go outside and get messy, but in case of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors.   Register Now!

 

 

2017 SUMMER CAMP OFFERINGS

 

Our summer camps allow kids to connect with the natural world via age-specific activities that encourage the spirit of discovery. Each session includes extensive exploration and creative play and incorporates conservation and sustainability practices. Children bring their own lunches each day; nutritious snacks will be provided. Medical forms must be completed prior to the start of camp.

Kick off your summer with good ole fashioned outdoor play; run, jump, climb, giggle and twirl through our forest and down to our vernal pond. Campers will be introduced to the wonderful world of macro invertebrates and wiggling worms. Register now!

Your child will go behind the scenes of the Nature Center as they meet and care for the rescued and rehabilitated animals that live on grounds.  Children will learn about animal behavior as they spend time with our furry, feathered and scaly friends. Campers will also explore our fields and trails with engaging activities focused on developing fundamental survival skills. Register now!

What’s the difference between wild and tame? Why do coyotes and dogs look so similar? Take a walk on the wild side with one of our expert naturalists as we traverse our trails and learn about magnificent wild creatures that inhabit our preserve! Register now!

Campers learn about wilderness survival as they explore our 33 acres of varied terrain and participate in exercises such as fire building, shelter construction, animal tracking and plant identification. Activities foster leadership and critical thinking skills. Campers will also spend time interacting with the Nature Center’s diverse animal population. Register now!

Ever wonder what it was like to live off the land? Spend a week with us as we go back in time and learn Native American tips and techniques of survival. We’ll test our structure-building skills, forage for native foods, play traditional games, and much more. Register now!

Campers explore the roles of naturalist and biologist as they discover the fascinating facts about the forest, its diverse habitats and the variety of animals that call it home. What is coldbloodied, has scales and lays eggs? Reptiles of course! Your child will spend the week meeting a wide range of our reptillian friends with an expert naturalist. Give a tortoise a bath, feel the scales of a snake, and dive in the wild world of radiant reptiles. Register now!

Refund Policy

  • For cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of camp date, a full refund minus 25% will be issued
  • For cancellations made less than 30 days prior of camp date, there are no refunds
  • Cost of Greenburgh Nature Center membership is not refundable
