Block Oil Anchorages on the Hudson

Block Oil Anchorages on the Hudson

From June 14, 2017 to June 14, 2017

The US Coast Guard, in response to pressure from the petroleum industry, hopes for 43 new oil barge anchorages – but is the Hudson a good home for them? After the spring public comment period, a decision has not yet been made on the potential infrastructure. The anchorages would enable more commercial vessels to use the river to transport gasoline, crude oil, and other fossil fuels. Learn more about the proposed plan’s ecological, public health, social, and economic implications in preparation of the anticipated summer public comment period.

Presenters and Panelists:
Spokesperson, Scenic Hudson
Peter Wolf, Former Coast Guard Operations Officer
Dan Lemons, Hastings-on-Hudson Village Trustee
