Back to Nature Enrichment Program
For K – 1
Looking for a way to allow your child to release their extra energy at the end of the school day? Enroll them in Greenburgh Nature Center’s Back to Nature Enrichment Program! This new after school nature immersion program emphasizes outdoor activities that encourage children to form a love and respect for nature that will last forever. Age-appropriate STEAM education concepts will be woven into the program using nature as a teaching tool.
Research has shown that children who engage in outdoor education programs have the opportunity to play cooperatively, develop greater teamwork skills, expand their creativity and improve their cognitive development. Our experienced education staff nurture your child’s relationship with nature, and their peers, while allowing them to explore the wonders of our natural world!
DAILY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
– Close encounters with our animals
– Explorations of our barnyard, pond, organic garden, Native Plant Meadow, Native American Village Replica sites
– Guided walks on our forest trails, and inquiry based play at Nature’s Discovery Playground
– Themed crafts and nature experiments
